Two halves of the same job.

Someone senior owning the outcome.

Not more activity. Someone accountable for what the activity returns.

  • Quarterly digital roadmap tied to revenue targets, not channel vanity
  • Budget allocation and channel mix decisions, with the reasoning written down
  • One monthly performance report leadership and the board can actually read
  • Agency and vendor management: briefs set, promises tracked, invoices justified
  • Mentorship for your in-house marketer, so they grow instead of guessing

And hands on the accounts.

If you don't have a team to execute, I'm not going to hand you a plan and wish you luck.

  • Google, Meta and LinkedIn campaigns built, launched and optimised weekly
  • GA4 and conversion tracking rebuilt so the numbers can be trusted
  • Reporting your team can open without a translator
  • Landing page and funnel fixes where the leak actually is
  • Automation between ads, forms and your CRM

04

Twelve-month roadmap

Sequenced, costed, and written for a board to sign off.

The same seniority, a fraction of the cost.

Full-time digital director$180K to $280K

Plus super, recruitment fees, leave, tools and a three-month ramp.

Me, on retainer$48K a year

No super, no leave, no recruitment fee. Working in week one.

Left in the budget each year, before super$132K to $232K

The honest version: once your operation needs daily executive presence, hire full-time. Until then, you're paying a salary for availability you don't use.

Who this is for, and who it isn't.

A good fit

  • $5M to $20M revenue with no marketing leadership in place
  • Spending $5K+ a month on ads without senior oversight
  • A capable marketer who needs someone above them
  • Bridging to a full-time hire, or preparing for a raise

Not a fit

  • Under $5K a month in ad spend. You need a freelancer, not a director
  • Looking for the cheapest option rather than the right one
  • Needing daily executive presence. That's a full-time hire
  • Wanting a CRM implementation, not marketing leadership

Fair questions.

Direct answers. If yours isn't here, ask me.

What exactly am I buying?

Senior digital leadership on a retainer: the strategy, ownership of the performance numbers reported to your board or leadership team, and accountability held over the agencies and vendors already on your payroll. Engagements typically run one to six days a month over six to twelve months.

How does the cost compare to hiring?

An equivalent full-time digital director in Australia is $180,000 to $280,000 plus superannuation, before recruitment fees, leave and tooling. Retainers here run $2,500 to $6,000 per month depending on scope, with no on-costs and no notice period beyond the quarter.

When should I hire full-time instead?

When the operation needs daily executive presence. Fractional makes sense while annual marketing spend justifies senior oversight, usually $250,000+ across media and headcount, but the role doesn't yet need five days a week.

Common triggers for starting fractional: scaling past $5M revenue, replacing an underperforming agency, preparing for a capital raise, or bridging to a full-time CMO hire.

Do you run the campaigns, or just advise?

Both, in that order. Direction is what you're buying: strategy, performance ownership, holding vendors accountable. But if you don't have a team to execute, I'm not going to hand you a plan and wish you luck. I build campaigns, fix tracking and attribution, and run launches myself.

Day to day that means Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads, GA4, Data Studio and automation. I work alongside whatever CRM you run, whether that's HubSpot, Salesforce or Dynamics. I'm not a CRM implementer. My focus is the marketing layer.

What happens to my current agency?

Usually they stay and get better. Most agency relationships underperform because nobody senior on the client side is setting the brief or reading the numbers properly. I fix that first. If the relationship still isn't working after a quarter of proper management, I'll say so plainly and help you run a replacement process.

How quickly can you start?

Onboarding takes a week: account access, a look at the last 90 days, and a conversation with whoever owns the revenue number. Real work begins in week one. There's no three-month ramp because there's no organisation to learn my way around.

Do you work outside Perth?

Yes. Every engagement is delivered remotely across Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand clients are a regular part of the book, since I spent years working in that market.
